Free Market Foundation honours former executive manager with award renaming


The Free Market Foundation (FMF) has bid farewell to Executive Manager, Gail Day, who retired at the end of February after being involved with the FMF since 1987.
 
In recognition of Day’s tireless dedication to managing the administrative machinery of the Foundation (mostly behind the scenes), the FMF has named the ‘Gail Day Unsung Heroes Award’ in her honour.

The Competition Commission is back in the news again, this time trying to unironically legislate ‘competition’ into being. The final terms of reference for the Fresh Produce Market Inquiry have been released by the Commission, as is required by law. The urge on the part of regulators to fix or correct prices seems to be rearing its head once again.

Title deed ceremony in Moqhaka and Viljoenskroon

David Ansara in Cape Town 6 & 7 March 2023

David Ansara had breakfast with Democratic Alliance MPs, Lindy Wilson (centre) and Michelle Clark (right), to discuss strategies for defeating National Health Insurance (NHI).

David Ansara met with Dave Stewart (pictured) and Tyla Dallas of the FW de Klerk Foundation in Cape Town on 7 March. They discussed how to strengthen the rule of law, protect private property rights and support constitutionalism in South Africa.
